Congratulations Bert for taking out the First Place in WAUPS Pixels Competition for the second year in a row. Well Done!!!

Pixels is a bimonthly competition run by our local Underwater Photography Club The Western Australian Photographic Society or WAUPS.

Here are the six images Bert entered in 2018, the  theme’s they were entered in & a little info on the individual image.

Picture
Cleaner Shrimp in the gills of a very friendly Grouper we got to know at a cleaning staton in Tulamben on one of our many trips to stay @ Liberty Dive Resort.

January, Colour:
One colour dominates the subject of the image. The image is to be in colour (not B&W) and the colour that dominates the image is not to be a black background or blue/green water.
Picture
S is for Shipwreck
Shot from inside the Lena Shipwreck off the coast of Bunbury in Western Australia's South West.
The Lena is a purposely sunk dive wreck & suitable for divers of all different levels.
Kim from Octopus Garden Dive Charters runs regular trips.

March, S is for...
The main subject should be a plant, animal or structure that begins with the letter S.
Picture
3 Pink Anemone fish or Amphiprion perideraion @ home in their host Anemone.
A nice safety stop find at a little dived site in Tulamben.

May, Three:
Not one, not two, not four, but three should be the dominant theme within your image.
Picture
This beautiful False Tasmanian Blenny was busy tending to her eggs in the stump of a broken down jetty pylon. Fanning her yet to hatch offspring with her fins to
provide them with fresh oxygen.

July, Fish Face:
A portrait of a fish that clearly shows its face from a side-on or front-on view. The image can be macro, close-up or wide angle as long as the fish face is the main subject.
Picture
A surprise snorkel @ a newly discovered Jellyfish Lake whilst onboard the SMY Ondina in Raja Ampat. What an amazing adventure that trip was. Would do it again in a heartbeat.

September, Just below the surface
: A photograph taken just below or close to the surface of the water. The surface should be obvious within the image. Split or over/under shots can be submitted in this theme.
Picture
This particular Lady Leafy Seadragon was so mesmerising!
We got lucky with chrystal clear never-ending viz on this dive, so rare & so special.
Craig from Bremer Bay Dive & Sports is the man to contact if you are thinking of heading down....
An unforgettable adventure...

November, Open:
Any image that has been taken underwater,
but not including in an aquarium, is allowed.

Congratulations Bert on your outstanding entries & being the
Overall Pixels winner for the second year in a row!!!
